This coming weekend, two of the biggest teams in Premier League history clash at the Emirates Stadium in London.
High-flying Arsenal will attempt to continue their quest to hunt down the Premier League title against their fierce rivals Manchester United in what should be a cracking game.

1979 – FA Cup Final – Arsenal 3-2 Manchester United
Two goals from Brian Talbot and Frank Stapleton had put Arsenal in a commanding lead with just three minutes remaining on the clock. The late Gordon McQueen pulled one back from a corner for United and just seconds after that goal, Sammy McIlroy bundled his way into the box to score past Pat Jennings to bring the game level on 88 minutes. However, from the kick off Graham Rix’s deep cross was met by Alan Sunderland at the back post and he prodded home to give Arsenal a last minute win.
1999 – FA Cup Semi Final Replay – Arsenal 1-2 Manchester United (AET)
A dramatic FA Cup semi final replay saw David Beckham score for United before Dennis Bergkamp equalised in the second half. Roy Keane was sent off and then late in the game Peter Schmeichel saved Bergkamp’s penalty to force extra time. Despite being down to ten men, United struck the winner from a mazy run from Ryan Giggs who smashed the ball into the roof of the net to land the win.
2002 – EPL – Manchester United 0-1 Arsenal
Arsene Wenger’s invincibles confirmed their Premier League title with a stunning win over their great rivals at Old Trafford early ion May 2002. Frenchman Sylvain Wiltord scoring the goal which ensured that the Gunners would win the title and eventually do so without losing a game.
2011 – EPL – Manchester United 8-2 Arsenal
Wayne Rooney rattled in a hat-trick as five players scored for United as they imposed a humiliating 8-2 defeat on Arsenal at Old Trafford. Arsene Wenger was sent to the stand in a famous moment from Premier League history.
1990 – League Cup – Arsenal 2-6 Manchester United
Not one of the best-known games perhaps but this Arsenal team was looking very strong under George Graham and was built on a rock solid defence. However iun the Rumbelow Cup Manchester United came to London and emerged with a stunning win to knock the Gunners out of the cup, with Lee Sharpe scoring a hat-trick.
